Sustainability at Mantra on Little Bourke

Here at Mantra on Little Bourke, we are committed to embedding sustainability into every facet of our daily operations. We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.

Dry Amenities

We're excited to announce our dedication to minimizing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this effort, we've taken a significant stride by eliminating single-use dry amenities, contributing to a plastic-free environment. Recognising the critical need to preserve our planet, we’ve discontinued single-use items such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps. Guests can now conveniently request sustainable alternatives from our room service or reception desk, ensuring a greener stay.

Large Amenities

To further our sustainability goals, we've proactively transitioned to large format amenities, swapping single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers across the hotel. This shift away from single-use plastic bottles greatly minimises waste generated by our operations. This initiative underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and signifies our continuous endeavour to enhance sustainability throughout our hotel.

Community Support

At Mantra on Little Bourke, we are dedicated to building and nurturing strong ties with our local community while making a positive impact on the environment. Here’s how we translate that commitment dedicated into action:

Partnering with Local Businesses: We place a high priority on collaborating with local businesses and suppliers, opting to source goods and services from within our community whenever feasible. This approach not only diminishes our environmental impact but also bolsters the growth and prosperity of our local economy.

Support for Local Artists and Artisans: We highlight the talent and creativity of our community by displaying artworks and products from local artists and artisans throughout our hotel. From paintings and sculptures, to handcrafted souvenirs, we aim to support and showcase the thriving arts scene in our area.

Celebrating Indigenous Heritage- We acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of the land on which our hotel resides, 'the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.

Our commitment to accessibility is reflected in our carefully designed special access rooms, featuring spacious layouts and easy-access showers to ensure maximum comfort and convenience.
